Illinois 6th Congressional District Issue Canvass

Sunday, June 25th – Kickoff at noon, shifts at 1pm and 2pm
Northwest Suburban Democrats Headquarters
1310 W. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights

Join us for the kickoff to the Coalition for a Better Illinois 6th’s Summer Canvass! We will be speaking to people who share our values and who voted in the 2016 Presidential Race but did not vote in 2014. We’ll be asking about what issues matter to voters and educating them on how their elected officials voted on those issues. We will encourage them to participate in the democratic process and let them know that the next elections will be in 2018. We will leave behind information on voting by mail and registering anyone else in the household who is not registered to vote. We will conduct periodic followup to keep these voters informed. Support Cook County’s $13 Minimum Wage

Sundays 4pm to 6pm through June

A new Cook County ordinance increases the minimum wage to $13 over 3 years. Some suburban Mayors and Boards of Trustees are seeking to opt out of the minimum wage. They need to hear from residents and businesses who support paying a livable wage. Join Reclaim Chicago NW Suburbs’ campaign to phonebank residents of Cook County to alert them and urge them to contact their elected representatives. Bring laptops& phones. (We have several desktop computers for those who don’t have laptops.) Contact Peg Lane at marylanep@aol.com. West Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights

The Comeback Illinois Agenda

Our state is falling apart, but our state government is paralyzed by partisan bickering instead of solving problems. Things are working just fine for the wealthy and powerful special interests, but the rest of us are left behind.

It’s time for a comeback. We have a real plan to put people above special interests, to create long-term solutions for our budget crisis, and to make Illinois a better place to earn a living and raise a family.
