Arlington Heights, IL – February 16, 2012 – Former State Rep. Mark Walker joins Wheeling Township Democratic Committeewoman Kathleen Sances and President Rob Nesvacil in endorsing John Tree for Congress. Tree had previously also earned the endorsement of the Wheeling Township Democratic Organization.
“John Tree is the only candidate in either party with business experience at the Fortune 500 and small business levels and the progressive values to fight for jobs and middle-class families in Congress,” said Former State Rep. Mark Walker.
Walker is a Vietnam veteran and, locally, founded the Drive to Revive Memorial Park committee in Arlington Heights. He is also currently the Vice President of the Wheeling Dems.
Tree currently serves as a full Colonel in the Air Force Reserve plus has business experience as a product manager for Kellogg’s and small business owner. Both Walker and Tree volunteered to serve in the Armed Forces.
Sances and Nesvacil endorsed Tree in January, noting his Democratic values including standing up for fairness, responsibility and the common good.
“With 21 years in the Air Force, John Tree can speak with authority when it comes to reducing Pentagon spending the right way and investing that money in clean energy jobs and helping families put their kids through college,” said Sances.
“John Tree’s background as a small business owner and as a Colonel in the Air Force Reserve makes him uniquely able to recognize and fight for solutions to help the middle class and generations to come,” said Nesvacil. “My wife and I have three young kids and John’s exactly the kind of guy I want on our side leading the way forward from the current dysfunctional tea party stalemate in Congress.”
Tree received the co-endorsement of the Wheeling Township Democratic Organization during the group’s January 25th endorsement session. Tree has earned several other local and national endorsements in his campaign for the 10th District Democratic primary.
