Dear Fellow Dems,

I want to give a huge shout out to Renee Shapiro, Flo Wasik, Ann Ryan and all the others who helped make our 2012 Membership Drive and and our first meeting of the election year a HUGE success.

We more than doubled our paid membership!

Part of that is the great candidates we have, from President Obama all the way to our local Congressional, state legislature and county-level Dems. But, another big part of that is the work that all our great and tireless Wheeling Dems volunteers do too.

We wouldn’t be one of the largest and one of the fastest growing Dem organizations in Chicagoland if it weren’t for all of you.

Thank you to all the candidates who have been coming to visit with us all the way from last summer to this week. Without getting to meet you and hear your platforms our members wouldn’t be nearly as well informed as they are.

Thanks also to everyone at last night’s meeting who brought in hats, mittens, food items and more to donate to local pantries and shelters. This is a great way to keep Pat’s memory and, more importantly, his good deeds alive and well.

And thank you to all our members who participated in our 2012 Endorsement Session and put democracy to action!
